Rick Altergott is a cartoonist/ illustrator/ painter best known as the creator of the fictional character Doofus who lives in “Flowertown, U.S.A.” with his best friend “Henry Hotchkiss”. He has completed a long-awaited graphic novel to be published by Fantagraphics Books in 2023.

 As a gallery artist, he has created images fully from the imagination, or inspired by direct observation, these being mostly semi-urban landscapes. Plans are to continue this two-tiered approach and see where it leads, creatively.

 He is learning to paint in Oil on canvas, and continues to work in Watercolor, and pen and ink.
