Melanie dai Medeiros is an interdisciplinary visual artist and unconventional papermaker who resides on the East Bay of Rhode Island. Her artwork uses materials and processes that elaborate on the inconsistencies of memory both in the narrative of imagery and physicality of the material. Medeiros builds casts, molds, and frames to pull and build sculptural papers from abaca pulp and upcycled materials. She is passionate about raising awareness of our collective impact on our environment and its inhabitants and is working toward using more sustainable art practices.. Medeiros has shown in a variety of venues throughout New England. She is an exhibiting member of the Pawtucket Arts Collaborative. In 2020, Melanie received her MFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston where she had obtained her BFA in 2003.
