November 2024 - Sophia Genereux

Hello, I’m a 14 year old artist. My art journey started back when I was 9. I had always been the “art kid” but I realized at some point that I really didn’t have any technical skill or even know how to draw a face properly. Thus, a rabbit hole of YouTube art videos ensued. 

Flash forwarding to now, I’m in a much different place. I focused mainly on painting for this exhibition and trying to capture the essence of the reference. I really tried to push myself and paint subjects that I didn’t commonly do. This actually led me down some unexpected paths and made me realize that I really enjoy painting flowers, for instance. I hope you like my work :)
