ARTIST COLLABORATOR: Cicek Beeby
Cicek Beeby is an archaeologist, art historian, and a multimedia visual artist. After a B.A. in art history and archaeology, and a Ph.D. in Classics and archaeology, she has held fellowships and taught at various institutions, including the Getty Research Institute, New York University, and Brown University. Her art explores themes of gender, women’s stories, and diaspora and displacement. She works in mixed media on paper, canvas, and clay. Her current work heavily features embroidery and needlework inspired by her Turkish heritage.
