Hello Folks,

November is a happening month at The Collaborative!

We've got FOUR artist openings, awesome upcoming workshops, a Poetry Night Series, and we are accepting submissions for our 3rd Annual Small Works Show!

Also, thank you to all the folks who came out for Folk at the Farm IV last month! The sun was shining, the weather was sweet, and we had a fabulous music-filed time!

Now here is what we've got going on at the gallery...

On Friday, November 8th from 6-8pm we’ll be having the opening for Feature Artist Leah Keith as well as Feature Artist Collaborator, Melanie Dai Medeiros. Check out Leah’s moving paintings and poetry, and Melanie’s marvelous multi-media works!

Next up is the opening for Youth Artist of the Month Sophia Genereux on Thursday, November 14th from 6-8pm. Stop by to see the expressive paintings of this talented young artist!

AND save-the-date! Our annual Small Works Show is accepting submissions, 8x8" and under, from artists until November 17th. The opening reception will be on December 5th from 6-9pm.

And at The Collaborative Lab...

On Sunday, November 3rd, fiber artist and educator, Hollis Hickerson will be teaching a Wet Felting Bag Workshop from 12-4pm! Participants will explore the fundamentals of wet felting, transforming raw wool fibers into sturdy, functional fabric. By the end of the class, each student will craft their handmade felt bag, learning skills such as fiber laying, water and soap application, wool fulling, and shaping the felt. Open to all levels of experience!

On Friday, November 8th from 6-8pm we'll be having the opening for Feature Artist Adam Robertson at The Lab! You won’t want to miss Adam’s wonderful watercolor and ink illustrations!

Next up, artist Faye Silvia is teaching a Linocut to Sticker Workshop on Sunday, November 10th from 1-4pm! By the end of this session, you will possess your own handmade stamp and a set of matching stickers! This class guarantees engagement for both novices and seasoned experts alike!

AND, on Friday, November 15th, 22nd, and 29th, we will be hosting a Poetry Night Series in partnership with George Hail Free Library and Diamond Cutz Barbershop! Enjoy refreshments, poems, music, and conversation with local artists young and old. We’re calling for folks ages thirteen and up to join us in reading their poetry.  There will be seven poets each night with one feature poet each evening. To sign up to be a non-feature reader and choose a specific date:  go here.  To sign up to be a feature reader, contact Ernest Edwards at: Diamond.cutz401@gmail.com.

Cheers,
