Now here is what we've got going on at The Collaborative Lab...
On Thursday, April 3rd, 6-8pm, we're kicking off the month with the opening for Feature Artist Kaitie Devlin! You won't want to miss Kaitie's expressive abstracts, that in her words, "capture the dynamic interplay between resilience and hope."
Next up, artist and educator Faye Silvia is teaching a Cyanotype Printmaking Workshop on Sunday, April 27th from 12-3pm. Explore the amazing art of making Cyanotypes — also known as sun prints! This art making process records the shadows of objects — the chemicals react to the sun and turn blue while shadows stay uncured or white. Use found objects, flowers, and drawings to create a blue and white image of whatever you choose. This is a great activity to help celebrate the incoming warm weather. Bring your own flowers, objects, or drawings, or choose from materials provided!
Now here is what's going on at the gallery...
On Thursday, April 10th, 6-8pm, join us for the opening of Youth Artist Safa Salboukh! Safa writes that her evocative and vivid work, is "a way to express my thoughts and feelings through colors and lines." We hope to see you there!
AND we've got a special workshop collaboration at Church Street Press!
Join us on Saturday, April 26th from 11am-4pm for a Drypoint Workshop with Deb Talbot at Church Street Press, 13 Church Street, Warren!
Learn the basics of this simple non-toxic printmaking technique developed in the 15th century! This workshop teaches the fundamentals of plate-making, use of simple drypoint tools, inking, press printing techniques, and how drypoint can be integrated with other printmaking processes.
It is a fun process for all levels. PLEASE BRING RUBBER GLOVES - ALL OTHER MATERIALS ARE PROVIDED. This class is for people 18 years and older. Safety waivers are required and will be provided.
Happy spring!
Cheers,
The Collaborative
