Meet our Feature Artist, Kevin Veronneau
View Kevin’s interpretation of “The Raft of the Medusa” using only manipulated sanitary toilet bowl wraps and tape. We have limited capacity in the gallery so Kevin will be entertaining you on the sidewalk with 6’ distancing. Please feel free to use our hand sanitizer or hand washing station. Masks are required in the gallery and we suggest on the sidewalk, as well. We want to keep everyone comfortable and safe.
If you want to avoid any crowds, please swing by the gallery that weekend. It’s always nice and quiet with just one gallery sitter present. We’ll be open Saturday and Sunday 11-5. Last day is Sunday the 30th.
~ A little bit about this piece. I created it during June and July of this year. It is a homage to Theodore Gericault’s Raft of the Medusa. I enjoy word play and materials, so using a toilet seat band as my means of expression seemed an apt choice. During these times the availability of many items has been in question, so I decided to make due with only this one item. I decided to only use tape and folding as my means of manipulation. The temporary nature and materials are an expression of the times and my current feelings.
