Michael is a contemporary artist that primarily creates artworks that are inspired by his hikes and coastal walks. Through a series of notes, thumbnails and poems, he completes finished pen and ink drawings of the moments captured from that day. He believes in the subtle experiences of our interactions with nature. May they be small or profound, the experiences are significant.
His work is typically small in scale and monochromatic with detailed cross hatching that features atmospheric lighting. His ocean studies provide a near abstraction of the shapes and forms, while his forest and wooden compositions feature more detailed experiences.
Overall, Michael's work celebrates the human connection to the natural world and encourages us to appreciate the subtle moments that can inspire us to connect with nature in a deeper way.
