Drypoint Printmaking Workshop
Learn the basics of this simple non-toxic printmaking technique developed in the 15th century! This workshop teaches the fundamentals of plate-making, use of simple drypoint tools, inking, press printing techniques, and how drypoint can be integrated with other printmaking processes.
Drypoint is the most direct of all intaglio techniques. The process uses multiple tools to scratch into a metal or plastic plate. A variety of mediums are also used to build texture to create a rich and varied print.
Drypoint technique is valued for its fresh and expressive lines that allows you to create multiple prints. Each print can be varied through your choice of inking, and wiping of the plate once it’s finished.
We’ll use oil based inks with non-toxic clean-up. It is a fun process for all levels.
