Art From Scratch - Framing & Matting
Art from Scratch is a series of four free art workshops and showcase for folks in the East Bay and beyond. We encourage novice and intermediate level creatives to learn the basics of artistic mediums taught by professional artists. Registration is required for all four workshops and all materials needed to participate will be provided. This will be an opportunity to get to know other creatives and improve your skills in a casual and welcoming environment!
This free program was made possible thanks to the generous grant funding from the Rhode Island Foundation and support from Makers. Please email sally@thecollaborative02885.org with any questions about the program.

The Preservation Framer is a family-owned, small business, specializing in design solutions for custom picture framing and presentation. We opened in 2008 in the suburb of North Attleboro, a once-thriving jewelry town. Drawn to the historic aesthetic of the post-industrial architecture we were able to bring the tin ceilings, brick walls, and hardwood floors of our beautiful showroom and gallery back to life. The Preservation Framer is focused on serving the community, supporting the arts, and providing unparalleled design services for custom picture framing, digital photo restoration, and printing.
Matt opened The Preservation Framer in 2008. The economy wasn’t strong and businesses were leaving, not coming into town. Matt had a vision and most importantly had the passion and drive to support it. His wife, Annie, was there to fuel his passion with support at home. Since opening over thirteen years ago, the business has grown. The business moved and expanded in 2018. Annie is more involved with the business, and together they continue to offer more to their community through products, classes, events, art, and music. They are very involved in their community. They started a local business owners group for networking, sharing experiences and giving back to the community.
