The inspiration for my art comes from my own life experiences and what I find interesting. I view my art as a form of therapy to focus my mind on a project for hours and hours and I tend to get lost in it. I love to create my art based on what I’ve seen around me and things that spark my interest. My favorite medium to use is acrylic paint because I find it fun to play with but painting also just comes to me and the endless layering and mixing of the paint is the fun of it. Taking words from my college essay I have said, “There is something about my life that is represented through my art by taking something plain and simple like paper, adding to it, breaking it down, and creating until it is something beautiful.” I believe that my art not only represents me but also the layers of life I have been through. The work itself may seem like nothing but, to me, the process of creating it means everything and the end result is always my biggest accomplishment.
