I first developed an interest in painting in 2019, though it took me a bit to get started, as I wasn’t sure if I would even be able to do it. I had made comic-books and drawings in my youth but never really considered myself to be a creator of any sort. When I was in 6th grade I had the good fortune to meet a local painter from Cape Cod named Sam Barber. He was the father of my best friend at the time and I spent a lot of time going over to their home. One day, Sam showed us his painting studio, which was located inside the top of a lighthouse, overlooking Hyannis Port. It was a great environment to be in and I don't doubt his influence has affected my work to some degree. I think in retrospect, I had the art bug in me, but never realized it until I was in my late 20’s. I eventually started painting in the fall of 2023 and I have enjoyed each moment with the painting process ever since. My favorite type of paintings to create would be impasto style paintings. I enjoy exploring the difference in textures I can work with for painting.
