Rick Altergott is a cartoonist/ illustrator/ painter best known as the creator of the fictional character Doofus who lives in “Flowertown, U.S.A.” with his best friend “Henry Hotchkiss”. He has completed a long awaited graphic novel to be published by Fantagraphics Books in 2023.

As a gallery artist, he has created images fully from the imagination, or inspired by direct observation, these being mostly semi-urban landscapes. Plans are to continue this two tiered approach and see where it leads, creatively.

He is learning to paint in Oil on canvas, and continues to work in Watercolor, and pen and ink.
