A Mental Health Training with Steven Eiland

Wednesday, August 23rd
6-7:30pm
Free Hybrid Event: 4 Market Street & Zoom

Just Ask is a presentation of the Columbia Protocol, also known as the Columbia-Suicide Severity Rating Scale (C-SSRS), the most evidence-supported tool of its kind. This tool is usable by anyone to prevent suicide through a series of simple, plain-language questions. The answers help identify whether someone is at risk for suicide, assess the severity and immediacy of that risk, and gauge the level of support that the person needs. This program will be offered in-person, and virtually. This workshop is available free to all participants. Registration is required for participation.

Steven Eiland is the Mental Health Awareness Training (MHAT) project director with the East Bay Regional Coalition. The MHAT program prepares and trains individuals to appropriately and safely respond to persons with mental health challenges and or disorders. As a result of mental health awareness training, individuals receive the knowledge, skills, confidence, and resources to help guide someone experiencing mental health and/or substance use challenges. Individuals trained might use these skills and resources to help others access needed mental health care from within their own families, their places of employment, their communities, or their places of worship. East Bay Regional Coalition is dedicated to providing free training opportunities for our community.
