Led by local singer-songwriter, Morgan Johnston, this workshop pulls from her experiences writing about art and collaborating with artists to explore the relationship between art and music. Whether writing a song about what you see, designing a cover for an album, or reflecting on the joys and pains of creating in general, these two expressive modalities are often closely linked. In just three hours, participants will create a group song and group mural together. Along the way, they will learn about musical and lyrical techniques for songwriting about art, engage in community building with others equally excited about interdisciplinary arts, and hopefully leave feeling inspired to create even more! No prior musical or artistic experience is necessary to join us.
